We provide a variety of activities and events for residents, and look for ways to support our residents in continuing to pursue their own hobbies and interests. Weekly activities include yoga, an art group, a reading group and 'Happy Hour' on a friday where residents enjoy a glass of wine or sherry, and 'nibbles'.
You can find more information on activities and events at Highfield in our latest newsletter.
Other recent activities include:
- Quizzes
- Musical entertainment
- Demonstrations in flower arranging
- Talks by visiting speakers on subjects that interest our residents
We also look for ways to help and support our residents in pursuing their own leisure interests.
- A mobile library visits regularly.
- We support residents to continue flower arranging. Residents have also been supported to share their interest and skills in flower arranging with other residents.
- Volunteers visit Highfield to chat with residents.
- Where possible residents are given lifts into Marlborough so that they can go shopping or visit the bank.
We maintain links with the local community in Marlborough, and we provide the venue, for example, for charity coffee mornings. Our residents are always encouraged to participate in these events.
We do all we can to help our residents to welcome visitors.
- Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time. They may join the resident in their own room or in the lounge.
- Family or friends may also join our residents for lunch at a dedicated table in the lounge area.
